The Internet was mostly a collection of static pages and sites when Barbara Wrede first waded into Web development. Since then, the Senior Developer for JKI has been helping a wide range of organizations – from small businesses to multinational corporations – accomplish their objectives online.
At JKI, Barbara primarily develops applications and content management systems. Her depth of experience in health care is especially noteworthy: She developed one of the first online directories of health care providers, and she has given large health care systems the capability to manage huge clinical health libraries and process health insurance claims.
Among the clients Barbara has served are Publix, Bank of America, Georgia Department of Tourism and Georgia State Parks. But she is equally energized by helping non-profit organizations and small to mid-sized companies grow their businesses.
Barbara joined JKI in 2008. She has experienced both the client and outsource partner sides of development, having held positions with DreamMaker Studio, Greystone.Net, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Washington and others.
Barbara graduated from Georgia Southern University with a B.S. in computer science and a minor in mathematics. She lives in Atlanta with her husband, John, and two children, India and Molly. As an active volunteer at The Paideia School, she has been instrumental in developing Web sites to support volunteering and online auction fundraising.
